`For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against...the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked ...according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Eph. 2:1,2
Praise and Worship in my opinion is the highest form of prayer. Have you ever given thought to the spiritual war that is going on any given Sunday? Together we are making war in the heavenlies. There may be good people who enter the doors of the sanctuary weary and heavy with the guilt and burdern of sin. They may even be under the influence of disobedience! Eph. 2:2
The Apostle Paul writes to young Timothy "FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men," 1 Tim. 2:1
We should never look at worship as just an ice-breaker or a sing along. If that is all it is, why not play Red-Rover, Red-Rover! No. It is an opportunity to touch heaven. Let me encourage you to pray, make petetions and intercessions and thanksgivings on behalf of all men. Wow, that kind of sounds like 1 Chronicles 16:4;" He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to make petition, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel: "
Worship plays a very important role in the spiritual realm. God could use us to make a difference in someone's life. Because of this I approach my position with the utmost respect and reverence.
Grace,
Mo

Mo, that is so true. Sometimes I think my most effective prayer is when I'm singing and worshiping. I always wondered why I felt closest to God during those times and you said it: it gives us an opportunity to touch heaven! I am so thankful for his grace. I can just picture us all standing before heaven, and hearing Jesus call, "Red Rover, Red Rover send Arran on over!"
ReplyDeleteArran, That's awesome. Jesus is saying Red Rover, Red Rover...I love it.
